TV PERSONALITY and Cookmedian Andrea Golino will be presiding over a week of dinners and conducting cooking classes during that includes wine tastings at Six Senses Yao Noi Beyond Phuket March 30 to April 4, 2012..
He will be joined by Harshal Shah, who will be sharing his knowledge about wine and anecdotes of his visits to vineyards around the world.
Andrea Golino originally wanted to become an actor but give it up to become a chef. But the acting bug never quite left him, taking on a series of roles in TV roles and movies. His unique interpretation of food and his penchant for challenging culinary rules earned him the nick name Chef Guevara and led him to his current acting role in Personal Chef, one of Italy’s most-watched culinary shows.
Saturday, March 31 – Pasta Andrea’s way: Cooking class from noon to 2 p.m., when Andrea will guide you through the secrets of making pasta. Wine expert Harshal Shah will be on hand to offer wines to make your cooking even better. Cost – 1,500 BHT per person.
Sunday, April 1 – A light four-course dinner with paired wines by the glass at The Hilltop Reserve. There will also be a wine quiz. The couple who comes closest to identifying the wine for each course will win a bottle of wine – four chances to win four bottles. Cost – 4,000 BHT per person.
Monday, April 2, when Andrea will again prepare a four-course dinner, using wine in all courses, at the Chef’s Table. Harshal will provide pairings for each course and guests will again have the opportunity to interact with Andrea and his Six Senses Yao Noi culinary team as he prepares each course in the open kitchen. Cost – 3,500 BHT per person.
Wednesday, April 4. Billed as the Grand Finale, at which Andrea and Harshal will be host at the Hilltop Reserve’s communal table, where guests will be able to dine family style at poolside as Andrea and Harshal share Andrea’s favorite Italian comfort foods. Cost – 3,500 BHT per person.
