SUKAMAL MONDAL, general manager of Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok, along with other staff representatives, recently donated rice and food collected by the Shama Sukhumvit under the Food Without Boundaries Program to Sister Joan Evans, a leader of the Milk Run and Family Food projects in the Klong Toey Community.
Established in July 2013, the Food without Boundaries Program is a CSR initiative created by Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok focused on poverty alleviation.
The program is based on a food bank concept, where Shama acts as a food collector, accepting donations of nonperishable food items such as powdered milk, rice and canned sardines from guests and team members.
These items are then given to Sister Joan Evan’s Milk Run and Family Food projects that help poor families in the Klong Toey communities. The programs ensure that the majority of children and elderly receive all the basic meals and care they need.
