THE DISTINCTIVE COLONIAL STYLE of the five-star Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui has held a prominent spot on the widest part of Chaweng Beach for 20 years now, and recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary in style with a gala charitable evening, held at the resort’s beachfront COAST Beach Club & Bistro.
With balcony views looking straight out onto the turquoise expanse of the Gulf of Thailand, the Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui offers accommodation options to suit guests and groups, featuring the old-world charm of colonial-era architecture and an unparalleled beachfront setting, and offers easy access to shopping outlets and the buzz of Chaweng Road.
As with all of Centara’s Grand properties, the Resort is also home to its own 10-room SPA Cenvaree, a constant source of wellbeing and relaxation. Set within its own lotus gardens, the spa is a place to rejuvenate, unwind and discover the range of treatments, which include the healing secrets of Thailand, as well as Indian traditions with the choice of over 30 other therapies, including spa treatments for couples, facials and body therapies.
The Centara Grand Samui staff is extremely pleased at the long-lasting integration of the Resort within the local community.
“It is a wonderful feeling to celebrate such a milestone,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Centara Hotels & Resorts’ CEO.
“Celebrating 20 years of success is a major achievement and a reflection of our talented and dedicated team that have excelled in their service delivery, and to our guests who have continued to demonstrate their loyalty to the Centara brand and to our beautiful property in Samui.”
“It truly is an honour to have been a part of this celebration and to become a part of the future for Centara Grand Samui,”said Dominique Ronge, area general manager at Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui.
The Resort’s 20th year celebration included an evening full of fun and fine food designed to give a little back to the island community, as well as a non-profit gala dinner, to benefit the community of Koh Samui, and in particular the Children’s Ward at the Koh Samui Hospital in Nathon, in association with SOS (Sisters on Samui).
Highlight of the evening was a live concert performance by Thai favourites “Buddha Bless” on a stage suspended in the ocean and a range of DJs who kept the stylish COAST Beach Club & Bistro buzzing.
