BANYAN TREE BANGKOK INVITES dedicated runners with a passion for achievement and a heart of gold to take part in one of the most highly anticipated and unique charity events on the city’s competitive running event calendar.
Benefitting ‘Little Angels’ In Need, this ultimate running-sport challenge pits muscle against gravity while raising money for a royalty-sponsored mother-baby charity program.
Now in its 19th year, the Vertical Marathon is a 61-floor race to the top of the Banyan Tree Bangkok, a 5-Star Hotel located on Sathorn Road. This annual event sees hundreds of runners of all ages and experience levels gathering at the break of dawn to dash up over 1,000 steps to the rooftop finishing line at the award-winning Vertigo Grill and Moon Bar — one of Southeast Asia’s highest al fresco restaurants offering 360 degree view of the city skyline.
All proceeds from the event—which is set to take place on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 will go to the Thai Red Cross HIV Formula Feeding Fund, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, Princess Soamsawali. The fund provides essential infant formula for babies of HIV- afflicted mothers.
At a registration fee of 400 Baht, all participants will receive an official event T-shirt. Those who make it all the way to the top will also get a handsome medallion for their trophy case.
Interested participants can register online at http://www.gotorace.com/event/verticalmarathon-2018 and at the front desk in the lobby of Banyan Tree Bangkok, now through 19 Feb. 19, 2018.
