Anantara Spa Siam Bangkok celebrates Thai Heritage with its exclusive Siam 2482 Signature treatment

THE SANCTUARY of Anantara Spa at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel immerses travellers in Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, journeys move beyond relaxation to offer nostalgic pampering, highlighted by the signature 90-minute Siam 2482 treatment.

Trisara unveils its new Jara Spa

TRIARA PHUKET’S NEWLY-RENAMED JARA SPA has a wonderful full name – “Jara Spa at the Garden of the Third Heaven” – that takes guests on a journey of balanced well-being.

Its holistic five- pillar philosophy is inspired by the century old Ficus tree at the heart of Trisara.

“True well-being is achieved through the understanding and embodiment of the five pillars in relation to the Ficus tree which has become the philosophy of our spa experience”, said Sophon O-In, spa manager at Trisara.

The five pillars are rejuvenation through nutrition and balance of energy represented by the roots of the tree as they provide the rest of the tree with stability, nourishment and grounding.

Four Seasons Samui offers two new coconut-based treatments

 IT’S NOT REALLY SURPRISING that the spa at Four Seasons Samui is offering two new coconut-based treatments, considering that Koh Samui is also known as Coconut Island, and that much of the resort is covered by coconut trees.

In fact, every effort was made to avoid cutting down any of the trees during the construction of the resort.

The SPA’s new treatments – Kala Coconut and Tree of Life.

The Kala Coconut, which is one of the spa’s signature treatments, is a unique fragrant, nourishing massage that features a coconut shell and warm streams of coconut oil. It’s described as a medium-to-strong massage that uses flowing, nurturing strokes to ease and soothe your body.

Zuma to Pop Up by the beach at Anantara Layan Phuket

WORLD-RENOWNED and award-winning restaurant, Zuma, will bring its contemporary Japanese cuisine to Anantara Layan Phuket resort in Thailand – the first ever Zuma Pop-Up in Asia.

This unique dining experience, running from Dec. 15 until mid-February next year over the international festive season, will offer diners a chance to enjoy dining Zuma style, with the Andaman Sea as a breathtaking backdrop.

Menu highlights will include a selection of Zuma’s favourite signature dishes such as spicy beef tenderloin with sesame, red chili & sweet soy; miso marinated black cod wrapped in hoba leaf and sliced yellowtail with chili relish, ponzu & pickled garlic.

Recipe of the Month:Tom Kati Kha Kai from Centara LadPrao Bangkok

This month’s recipe – Tom Kati Kha Kai or chicken in coconut milk soup – comes from the chefs at Suan Bua restaurant located in Centara Grand at Central Plaza LadPrao Bangkok, which recently completed a $27 million expansion. The Thai dish is one of the most popular at the restaurant

Ingredients:  9 Ladles coconut milk  1 Stalk of thin-sliced lemon grass 15 grams of sliced galangal root  3 pcs Kaffir lime leaves  3 teaspoons of crushed bird chili (can be reduced if you don’t like spicy) 30 grams of sliced straw mushroom 7 teaspoons of fish sauce  5 teaspoons lime juice or lemon juice  1 teaspoon of sugar  50 grams of sliced chicken breast  2-3 bunches coriander leaves 1-2 pcs deep-fried dried Chili.

chicken-in-coconut-milk-soupPreparation:  Boil coconut milk in a pot, add the lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, chili and mushrooms, boil approximately three minutes, then season with fish sauce, sugar and lime juice to your liking. Add the sliced chicken breasts and simmer to cooked, sprinkle coriander on plate and serve with steamed rice.

Chef’s Tips:

If you can’t find straw mushrooms, fresh mushrooms can be used instead. You don’t always have to use chicken. Fish would work fine, too. For vegetarians, use tofu instead of meat, and season with white soy sauce instead of fish sauce.
