Spicing up your love life at Amari

AMARI HAS A COLLECTION OF smart and sexy tips that are great for your relationship, allowing you to socially distance yourself from the world and give 100% attention to your favourite person.

Start with an in-room dining experience by choosing a room, where a dinner for two is given a backdrop of breath-taking views.

In the morning, skip the buffet line and ask for breakfast to be served to your room. Plus, if you’re looking to do an Instagrammable breakfast spread shot, this is the perfect opportunity for all the IG partners out there to earn some brownie points.

Alternatively, ask for a picnic basket packed with sweet and savoury goodies for an outdoor lunch on the beach. Romantic, intimate, and another picture perfect moment to share as a “latergram”.

Dining Al Fresco… with an Elegant Twist: Set a date with your partner for something stylish if you find yourself missing those ‘special occasion’ outings. An afternoon tea date for two by the pool takes you away from the stuffy indoors, offering a fresh ocean breeze and warm sunshine if that’s your cup of tea.

If you prefer stargazing on the beach, you can set up a romantic sunset dining experience with spectacular ocean views, a private set menu meal that is only elevated by the dreamy atmosphere. Planning a proposal? This is the moment you’ve been waiting for all your life, hearing those two simple words: “I do”.

Massage Each Other’s Worries Away: Research shows that there are benefits to couples giving each other massages. It also strengthens emotional bonds in addition to providing physical relief from tension. Make time to give each other a relaxing massage, or opt for a couples massage together.

Ask your massage therapist for oil recommendations that’ll create the ultimate experience for you, whether you’re looking to unwind, to reinvigorate, or simply get lost in the rhythm together.

For the ultimate indulgence, book a couple’s massage at Amari Phuket Breeze Spa and get lost in the rhythm together, or dim the lights and set up a romantic bath with your other half at Amari Hua Hin’s One Bedroom Suites.

No Need to Wait – You Can Create Your Own Special Moments: Surprise your partner at home with personalized decorations, order in flowers or light up some candles to set the mood. If you’re planning a staycation, ask the hotel for a special set-up: Balloons and champagne are great ways to celebrate an anniversary, birthday – or the every day.

Learn (or Re-Learn) a New Hobby Together: Whether you’re looking to level up your culinary prowess by taking a cooking class together, or hoping to burn off your romantic dinner with a challenging new workout routine, plan something special and fun that the two of you can share.

Not sure what you’d like to try? Paddleboarding, painting classes, and photography are some of the activities you can start exploring today.

You can create romance in your lives, regardless of whether you are staying home or treating yourself to a private hotel stay. If you choose to travel, be responsible. Wear your face masks in public areas, observe social distancing and keep your hands clean. Also check that the hotel you visit is committed to offering a safe and healthy environment through enhanced measures, such as ONYX Clean, which is offered by all Amari hotels. Remember: Travel remains possible as long as you travel safely, mindfully and positively.

Visit Amari Hua Hin for a lovely afternoon tea set by the poolside, or enjoy a soothing couples massage at Amari Phuket’s Breeze Spa, where the open air plan means you can fully take in the lullaby of the ocean as your tensions melt away.

Book One Bedroom Suite Pool View at Amari Hua Hin with “Just the Two of Us” package for a three-course candlelit dinner at Shoreline Beach Club, complimentary wine and romantic room setup; complimentary in-room breakfast and guaranteed late check-out, nightly rates starting at 5,499 THB. Guests booking this package can also ultimately relax and unwind with Breeze Spa’s treatments, with special promotion “Buy 1 Get 1 Free”. Book your stay with Amari Hua Hin until Feb. 28, 2021.

In addition to guaranteed late check-out until 4 p.m. Nightly rates start at 4,730 THB. This package is available until 3Sept. 30, 2021.

You can also stay at Amari Koh Samui, which offers both al fresco sunset dinners and the in-room dining experience of your choice with sea views that’ll last for years to come. Dusit International reimagines its marketing strategy for the new normal, introduces three new pillars for sustainable business

RECOZNIZING THE DEEP and profound impact that the global pandemic has had on Thailand’s tourism and travel industry, the new strategy will see the company establish new partnerships to co-create value beyond its current scope and reach; cultivate greater synergies between its various business units; and create new meaningful guest experiences that contribute to the preservation of the environment, culture, and local communities in its various destinations.

As part of the strategy, Dusit has partnered with Local Alike, an online social enterprise dedicated to the sustainable development of Thai rural communities through responsible tourism, to offer a range of educational tours aimed at young families seeking more meaningful experiences during their stays.

Immersing participants in the lives, culture and cuisines of indigenous communities around Thailand, such as the Tai Lue hill tribe in Chiang Mai and lobster farming communities in Phuket, these experiences are offered under the banner of Dusit Local Explorer.

Dusit also plans to leverage its own resources to provide hospitality and service training for the various communities so they can enhance their skills and learn how to sustainably welcome visitors. Volunteers will come from Dusit Hotels & Resorts as well as Dusit Hospitality Education.

Where possible, Dusit will also support Local Alike’s other initiatives, including Local Aroi, which aims to develop local cuisines to fine dining standards through the creation of special set menus that celebrate the stories, techniques, and sustainable ingredients behind renowned local dishes; and  Local Alot, which supports the sustainable production of handcrafted products.

“Consumer behaviour has changed dramatically during COVID-19 and it’s essential that we change our strategy and pivot our operations to meet their needs as much as possible,” said Group CEO Suphajee Suthumpun, Dusit International.

“Recognizing the accelerated shift from buying things to buying experiences, as well as a clear focus on safety, wellness, sustainability and flexibility, we have spent the last six months enhancing our operations to deliver not only officially certified, heightened standards of hygiene and cleanliness, but also extra convenience, experience and value in line with these key areas.

“The rollout of our three new strategic pillars – Collaboration, Integration, and Social Contribution – will now allow us to align our efforts even further, and drive revenue creation that will benefit our broader communities too. Our partnership with Local Alike signals our strong commitment in this regard, and we are delighted to join them in their mission to find unseen communities and develop them into sustainable tourism attractions that delight visitors and locals alike.”

“I’m grateful for Dusit’s support and appreciation of what we are trying to achieve with our sustainable tourism initiative. Working closely with Dusit’s hotel teams in each location, we have created an exciting range of one-day tours and activities led by the locals themselves to ensure guests have truly authentic and meaningful experiences,” said Somsak Boonkam, founder and CEO, Local Alike.

“We are delighted that, alongside the current day trips, Dusit plans to further support our communities by offering hospitality and service training for residents, and also by seeking opportunities for our Local Aroi and Local Alot programs. This support will certainly help to expedite the development of local destinations, ultimately bringing long-lasting value to all involved.”

The Dusit Local Explorer programs are available now at Dusit Hotels and Resorts in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, Krabi, Pattaya, and Phuket.

To cater to the experiential needs of the luxury segment, Dusit has also teamed up with bespoke tour providers in Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Phuket to provide exclusive end-to-end excursions packaged as The Ultimate Dusit Experience.

A private vineyard tour, a luxury sunset yacht cruise, and a visit to a flower field with a professional photographer are among the experiences offered as part of packages which also include room, breakfast, dinner and more.

More details about The Ultimate Dusit Experience and Dusit Local Explorer packages are available online at dusit.com/specialoffers.

Dusit International charts expansion of ASAI Hotels to meet the challenges of the new normal in Bangkok

DUSIT INTERNATIONAL IS ROLLING OUT its new ASAI Hotels brand with the opening of ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in the heart of the city’s renowned Chinatown district, followed by six more properties all operating under a thoughtfully lean hotel concept Dusit believes will be key to sustainable and profitable growth in the new normal.

Designed to link millennial-minded travellers with authentic local experiences in the world’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, ASAI Hotels is Dusit’s sixth hotel brand and represents the company’s expansion into the affordable lifestyle segment of the lodging spectrum. Its other brands – namely Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess, Dusit Devarana and Elite Havens – cover upper-midscale through to luxury.

Drawing on Dusit’s brand of Thai-inspired hospitality, ASAI Hotels is positioned to offer lean-luxury by providing thoughtfully pared-back services while focusing on in-stay essentials. Large communal spaces, featuring sustainable and locally inspired lifestyle and dining experiences will be central to its offerings.

Starting this month, the brand will initially serve domestic travellers seeking authentic experiences in Bangkok’s historic Chinatown district and culturally rich Old Town.

Another ASAI hotel will open within 12 months in Bangkok’s stylish Sathorn district, followed by three ASAI Hotels in Cebu, the Philippines; one ASAI hotel in the old Yankin area of Yangon, Myanmar; and one ASAI hotel in Kyoto, Japan.

Dusit International believes the ASAI Hotels concept is well-positioned to meet the challenges of a post-COVID-19 world and deliver long-term value for hotel owners, investors and other key stakeholders.

“With its highly agile management structure, streamlined designs, and limited personnel, the ASAI Hotels business model is compact, sustainable and efficient, and ultimately serves as a cost-effective, fitting solution for continuing to grow our business and expand our presence in the new normal,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO, Dusit International.

“By expanding our offerings across the lodging spectrum, we are not only tapping into the fast-growing market of millennial-minded customers who desire local experiences, but we are also offering new stay experiences to our existing customers too.

Collaborations with local restaurateurs and artisans, and sustainable sourcing of produce, are just some of the elements we have in place to capture the attention of the market as a whole, and we believe this integrated community approach will be vital to success in our industry following the deep social and economic impact of COVID-19.”

ASAI Bangkok Chinatown features 224 thoughtfully compact rooms (ranging from 18 – 26 sq m). Each room’s contemporary and clean design emphasizes in-stay essentials, such as superior quality beds, high-pressure rain showers, luggage space, and a work desk with USB charging station. A large communal area, meanwhile, includes large and comfortable work areas, a small gym, a bar highlighting craft beers and creative cocktails, a large courtyard with organic herb garden, and Jam Jam restaurant serving a creative twist on local and international favourites.

Located adjacent to Yaowarat Road, only 100 metres from Wat Mangkon MRT underground station, the hotel also puts guests in the heart of a vibrant neighbourhood renowned for its lively fresh markets, historic temples, traditional shophouses, hidden coffee shops and a vast array of streetside eateries.

The Rattanakosin Island area, home to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, is only two stations away on the MRT. The city’s major commercial districts can also be easily reached via the underground network.

“Easily accessible and equipped to cater to the needs of all kinds of travellers, from solo and groups to business and leisure, ASAI Bangkok Chinatown is a great option for lodging in Bangkok’s fascinating Old Town,” said Siradej Donavanik, managing director, ASAI Holdings Company Limited, which operates ASAI Hotels.

“We have all the elements in place to appeal to the tastes of modern travellers who appreciate sustainability and who want to experience the true essence of a destination. From our minimalist, locally inspired design with considerate technological touches, to our unique locally-inspired lifestyle and dining experiences, our hotel is set to become a hub of the community, offering highly comfortable, affordable stays for our curious and dynamic guests, and serving as an attractive and happening venue in which to work, rest, eat and play for Bangkokians at large.”

He is confident that there are many people throughout Thailand who would like to come and experience Bangkok’s Old Town while discovering a new spin on Dusit’s renowned high standards of service and hospitality.

“As the only international hotel chain in the area, we have a strong advantage, and we look forward to leveraging it to bring value to all of our stakeholders – guests, customers, employees, and owners alike.”

In line with ASAI Hotel’s over-all concept, Live Local, each hotel in the ASAI portfolio will be geared to reflect its local character in terms of design, style and restaurant offering. This approach will be further evident when ASAI Hotels opens its second hotel, in Bangkok’s Sathorn district, which will fully embrace the modernity of its inner-city setting to offer a complementary-yet-distinctive stay experience that differentiates it from the Chinatown property.
