Capella Bangkok’s Auriga Wellness ‘Sanctuary within a Sanctuary’

Capella Bangkok, an urban resort on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, has launched a new level of wellness with the opening of Auriga Wellness, a world-class spa spearheaded by the wellness specialists of GOCO Hospitality.

The spa immerses guests in a natural sanctuary of tranquillity, blending contemporary wellness techniques with ancient Asian wisdom. Nestled in the resort’s lush landscaped gardens, this 1,074- square metre facility features seven treatment rooms (including two spa suites), a thermal bathing area, a naturally lit tea lounge with an outdoor spa garden and a well-equipped fitness centre.

Drawing upon age-old therapies and medicinal herbs and spices—many growing organically in the local area—Auriga Wellness will provide a truly unique spa experience.  The spa program, conceptualized by GOCO Hospitality, balances the heritage of the various communities along Charoenkrung Road with treatments embracing elements of traditional Chinese medicine, Indian healing rituals and time-honoured Thai techniques (such as Tok Sen, a hammer massage introduced to Bangkok by settlers from Chiang Mai).

To offer guests the best in modern healing beauty treatments, Auriga Wellness also worked with acclaimed luxury skincare brand ‘J1JSKIN’ to design a range of signature facial and body therapies, including dedicated treatments for gentlemen and the award-winning non-surgical lift facial.

An extensive menu of massages, body scrubs, wraps, facials and cleansing rituals will leave guests feeling fully restored, refreshed and rejuvenated. A series of active classes and lifestyle sessions, such as yoga, tai chi, personal training, TRX workouts and Muay Thai, will invigorate the mind and body.

“Capella Bangkok is set to become one of the most iconic wellness destinations in Bangkok thanks to its never-before-seen collection of locally inspired spa treatments,” says Ingo Schweder, founder and CEO of GOCO Hospitality.

“Auriga Wellness will take guests on genuine journeys that explore the unique healing traditions inspired by the communities of Charoenkrung Road. This area is famed for its expertise in herbal medicines and ancient massage techniques, and I can’t wait to see these rituals come to life at Capella Bangkok.”

“Auriga Wellness is a ‘sanctuary within a sanctuary’ — a self-enclosed full-service spa in the heart of our riverside resort,” says John Blanco, general manager of Capella Bangkok. “Surrounded by tropical gardens, this is a cocoon where guests and local residents can escape from the outside world and unwind in a deedly peaceful ambience. GOCO Hospitality has created great  spa experiences for CaDella IO Sanya, Bali and the Maldives, and I am delighted to introduce their unique concept to Capella Bangkok,”

The sense of well-being at Capella Bangkok does not end at Auriga Wellness; spa-inspired services permeate throughout this innovative urban resort, from in-room wellness programmes and yoga mats to healthy dÏning options, a glistening riverside pool, and highly engaging experiences curated by a team of ‘CaDella Culturists, who tap into the rich history of this storied neighbourhood.

Auriga Wellness is open daily from 1O a.m. to 10 p.m.. For more information and reservations, email or call 065 998 4648. To learn more about Capella Bangkok, visit www.caoeIIahoteIs.com/banqkok or call 02 098 3888.

Dusit International’s technological transformation

Dusit International has completed the first stage of its most significant technological transformation project to date.

It has invested in the latest cloud-based ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and Data Management software to drive group-wide efficiency across its five business units (Hotels and Resorts, Hospitality Education, Food, Property Development, and Hospitality-Related Services).

Dusit will leverage big data to create exceptional consumer experiences and identify new business opportunities in line with Dusit’s three-pronged strategy for balance, expansion, and diversification.

Carried out as part of Dusit’s strategic roadmap for technological transformation, which was first announced in January 2019 and expedited to increase business resilience in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project encompasses the entire Dusit group, including 24 different entities across 17 countries.

The state-of-the-art cloud-based software Dusit is implementing includes SAP S/4HANA, which includes centralized processes for everything from finance and accounting to inventory and purchasing on a single, unified ERP solution; Microsoft Azure, for secure data storage and management; and Cendyn, for efficient group-wide CRM.

The new ERP system is now live, with the integrated CRM and Data Management elements set to be introduced later this year

“While investing in such a significant project during this uncertain period may seem against the grain, for swift post-pandemic recovery, we must deeply understand the needs of consumers and how we can best meet and, most importantly, exceed their expectations with our various services and products. Investment in this area is of critical importance,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO, Dusit International.

“During the pandemic, personalization has become a key expectation across so many industries – especially hospitality – and digital-savvy consumers have demonstrated a growing need for highly customized experiences that they can enjoy on their terms.

Key to meeting these expectations is data. And the more effectively and efficiently we can collect and use data, the greater our ability to create products, services and experiences that make our customers feel exceptional.”

Throughout the pandemic, which has significantly impacted Dusit’s core hotel business, the company has optimized its operations around total revenue generation, rather than cost-cutting, and innovated its way through the challenges by seeking ways to leverage its existing strengths and resources to create additional experience, convenience, and value for its guests and customers.

Chief among its efforts has been the introduction of four new pillars of Dusit Graciousness –Service (personalized and gracious), Well-Being (delivering wellness experiences beyond the spa), Locality (uniquely linking guests with the local community), and Sustainability (social, economic, and environmental) – and creating new experiences in each of these areas.

“Our company, like many others, has had to transform our organization and rethink our capabilities to enhance our resiliency and deliver not only short-term financial improvement, but also long-term value creation through innovation, efficiency, and agility,” she said.

“From a product standpoint, we have also had to swiftly yet considerately reimagine our services and put the infrastructure in place to ensure our hotels and resorts can suitably cater to accelerated trends – and ultimately achieve long-term success.

“The new real-time, centralized solutions we have invested in as part of our significant group-wide technological transformation will expedite our efforts in these areas, allowing us to deliver the value-driven experiences our existing guests and customers expect and deserve, efficiently identify new market segments, and ultimately position our properties for long-term value creation to the benefit of all stakeholders.”

Making further use of digital technology, Dusit recently expanded into e-commerce by launching dedicated stores on the popular LINE Shopping and LazMall platforms.

Aimed at consumers in Thailand and featuring attractive promotions on stays, meals and fitness experiences at Dusit Hotels and Resorts throughout the kingdom, the online shops continue Dusit’s efforts to establish new sources of recurring domestic revenue while the country’s borders are closed to international travel.

“While the effects of the pandemic will be felt for some time, we firmly believe that travel will come back stronger than ever when the COVID-19 situation improves,” she added.

“And we are confident that our technological transformation and new customer offerings will contribute significantly to driving short- and long-term business, extending our market reach, and cementing the competitive advantage of Dusit Hotels and Resorts and our other business units worldwide.”

DUSIT INTERNATIONAL HAS expanded its operations in the kingdom with the opening of dusitD2 Hua Hin, an upscale pet-friendly retreat in the heart of Hua Hin, a popular seaside destination just three hours by car from Bangkok.

Located just a seven-minute walk from Hua Hin’s main beach and near popular local attractions such as Cicada Market and Bluport Hua Hin Resort Mall, the new hotel is designed to offer a modern and comfortable haven where families and groups of friends can recharge, relax, and easily discover everything the destination has to offer, with space to bring their pets with them.

Alongside 152 contemporary guest rooms and suites ranging in size from 30 to 92 sq m, including selected rooms equipped with pet-friendly amenities for up to two pets, the bright and airy property offers a wide range of facilities for work, rest and play.

Current dining facilities include CafeSoi, an all-day dining restaurant where guests can take a culinary journey to Southern Thailand and indulge in traditional delicacies from Surat Thani, Phuket, Songkhla, Krabi and beyond; Som Bar, a rooftop bar inspired by Hollywood party pads where guests can enjoy cocktails and admire panoramic sea views; and Dusit Gourmet, Dusit’s signature bakery and coffee shop, where guests can indulge in a variety of Thai and international favourites, all made using high-quality ingredients.
